The solution was a consulting agreement in which we at GPower provided know-how and development assistance, while FB delivered most of the development work themselves.
Initially, we analyzed the existing code and then provided a recommendation for a new architecture, focusing in particular on consistency and robustness. Once the framework was in place, FB could begin translating code from the old software into the new architecture themselves. In addition to saving them many consulting hours, it also strengthened their software development capabilities, as we supported them from the sidelines by tackling the most difficult pieces such as hardware drivers and customized controls.
With this solution, FB benefited from our expertise while retaining full control of their software. At the same time, it gave their employees time to focus on their product rather than having to solve complex software challenges that would otherwise have been outside their area of expertise.
