We have just gained another employee at GPower! Following a successful internship, Andreas Boes Jakobsen will continue as part of our development department, where he will, among other things, develop modular software in connection with several of our new projects.
New competencies in the development department
“I wanted to do a company internship at GPower because I am interested in both software and hardware. In addition, as part of my physics studies I have used LabVIEW to control and collect data from measuring instruments, which I would be able to gain more insight into by becoming part of GPower’s development team.”
That is what Andreas said when he started his company internship with us four weeks ago. Andreas has now just become part of our development department, and we look forward to bringing an experimental physicist into our department, which until now has consisted only of engineers.
An internship at GPower
In addition to Andreas having passed National Instruments’ CLAD certification (Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer) during his internship, with the aim of acquiring the best possible and most fundamental competencies in LabVIEW, he has also, among other things:
- Further developed his LabVIEW skills from university
- Gained insight into project management and design documents by being part of an ongoing project
- Gained familiarity with embedded design by programming applications for, for example, National Instruments’ RIO platform
New strategy creates opportunities for new types of developers
“In line with our new strategy, we have started to broaden our search for our development department. Whereas we previously searched very specifically for engineers with experience in LabVIEW programming, today we also look for, for example, physicists and mathematicians. And in addition to Andreas, as of March 1 we have also hired another physicist for our development department.” – Martin Boje, CEO, GPower.
