Andreas Boes Jakobsen has just started a work placement in our development department. Andreas holds a degree in physics from Aarhus University and currently teaches physics at Aarhus Statsgymnasium.
Why GPower?
“I wanted to do a work placement at GPower because I am interested in both software and hardware. In addition, during my studies I used LabVIEW to control and collect data from measuring instruments, which I would be able to gain more insight into by becoming part of GPower’s development team.” – Andreas Boes Jakobsen
In-depth knowledge of LabVIEW
With a background in physics, Andreas already has in-depth knowledge of the LabVIEW programming language from “Control and Data Acquisition”, which he took in his 6th semester. Andreas will build on this knowledge here with us, as during the placement period he will, among other things, complete a CLAD certification (Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer).
“At GPower, we are looking forward to seeing what Andreas can contribute within the physical domain. In addition to computer software, much of our work involves measuring and generating physical signals, where we believe Andreas’ background as a physicist can be extremely valuable. And not least, we are looking forward to bringing a different professional background into our team of experienced engineers.” – Steen Secher Schmidt, Founder and CTO, GPower.
New strategy opens up opportunities for new types of developers
In line with our new market strategy, we have also started to broaden our search for our development department. While we previously searched very specifically for engineers with experience in LabVIEW programming, today we also look for engineers with experience in other programming languages, physicists, mathematicians, and similar profiles, and, among other things, as of 1 March 2018 we have hired a physicist for our development department.
