The final round of GPowers baking battle is underway!

Despite a busy schedule, there must always be room for fun and a bit of coziness! That is the philosophy at GPower, which over the past few months has been running a cake competition. Something that started as a cozy Friday activity, but quickly developed into a bigger baking battle! 😊

Why a cake competition?

“We don’t actually get that much cake here at the office, do we?” It was this matter-of-fact remark that kicked off the cake competition here at the headquarters in Hinnerup. But while the cake competition between GPower colleagues was intended as a cozy Friday activity, where you could bring along a homemade sponge cake or chocolate cake, it didn’t take many rounds before the cozy activity had turned into a full-blown baking battle… Because you didn’t just want to take part. No—you wanted to win!

Can you go too far to win…?

Even though it was our CEO who launched the project, he was the only one to be disqualified. Besides the fact that people thought the cake was too good for him to have made it himself, he also could not answer whether he had added yeast to the cake or not, which made the decision to disqualify him a lot easier.

This decision also meant that the competitor and highly competitive Jesper, seen in the photo below, could breathe a sigh of relief, as he had thus secured both the victory and the bragging rights.

The final baking battle takes place today

After a couple of months of cake competition, the final baking battle takes place today, with Steen and Jens Christian going head-to-head. Who will win is not yet known, but thanks to the development department, an anonymous vote has just been sent out!
