GPower and IDA launch free LabVIEW course for students and recent graduates

At GPower, we are passionate about technology, knowledge sharing, and—most importantly—helping the next generation of engineers and developers get off to a strong start. That is why the answer was easy when IDA contacted us to ask whether we could help develop a free introductory course in NI’s (National Instruments) LabVIEW aimed at students and recent graduates.

LabVIEW is one of the most widely used tools in testing, measurement, automation, and data processing, and we know how much value a solid introduction to the platform can create early in a career. Therefore, we saw it as an obvious opportunity to contribute to the community around the technologies we work with every single day.

From idea to finished course

Developing the course has required significant technical expertise and commitment. A special thank you goes to our colleague Serkan, who has made LabVIEW accessible and easy to understand—regardless of prior experience with the programming language.

A course for students and recent graduates who want a practical, manageable foundation in LabVIEW without drowning in theory. The course provides participants with an introduction to the fundamental concepts in LabVIEW, including how to:

Dataflow controls execution in LabVIEW
You work with VIs, the front panel, and the block diagram
You use core data types, clusters, and enums
You build logic with loops, case structures, and event structures
Larger programs can be organised using state machines

An investment in the engineers of the future

The initiative is about more than technology. It is about strengthening skills and making the transition from studies to working life easier.

We hope the course inspires students, recent graduates, and other technology enthusiasts to explore the possibilities in LabVIEW.
