Welcome to GPower, Simon!

At GPower, today we welcome Simon Sejer Pedersen, who as of today has become part of our development team. Despite his young age and his new degree from Aarhus University, Simon has already been on stage at NIWeek in Austin, Texas, where we first met him.

Simon is a newly graduated Master of Science in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, building on a diploma degree from Aarhus University. In addition to his diploma engineering studies, Simon has a specialization in business understanding, and during his studies he has, among other things, worked with the design, testing, and analysis of new methods for vacuum drying and vibrations in wind turbine towers. In that context, Simon has, among other things, worked with test and measurement equipment setup, quality assurance, and data analysis, which aligns well with GPower’s core competencies.

In addition to experience from his studies, Simon also has experience with test and measurement systems from his internship at Siemens Gamesa, where he worked with thermodynamic and mechanical systems. Furthermore, in previous projects Simon has worked on everything from initial test setup design and software development to data analysis and data acquisition—both before, during, and after a project.

Simon is previously Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD), and is currently in the process of obtaining Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD).

A happy reunion from NIWeek 2019

For GPower, this is not the first time we have come across Simon. We met him, among other places, at NIWeek 2019 in Austin, where he and a group of fellow students presented an autonomous robot for Arctic use. A project—and a presentation—that resulted in a 2nd place, while they won the Audience Award at the same event. In addition, the project also won SDG Sustainary’s Best Research Category at the SDG Tech Awards 2019.
