In addition to GPower being a new way of thinking about software and hardware for measurement and testing in industrial contexts, GPower is also a response rooted in the conviction that, until now, the market standard has been too expensive and too time-consuming.
How do we rethink software and hardware?
With unique solutions and specialized expertise, we develop high-quality instruments for automation, simulation, and testing—based on the ideal of continuously pushing the standard forward and making quality instruments accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises as well.
Our goal is to deliver faster, better, and more affordable solutions than previously seen—whether it involves simulating large machines and potential prototypes, product quality testing, or automating one or more industrial workflows.
The right foundation to build on
Founder Steen Secher Schmidt created GPower in the autumn of 2012 with the aim of changing the mindset he saw as prevalent in the industry. In his view, common practice was to sell as many consulting hours as possible instead of ensuring customers received quality solutions at a good price. Steen turned his ambition into reality by developing a modular software foundation that can easily be adapted to different needs.
“The trend has previously been that customers do not get very far despite large bills. The elements used in ‘Project A’ and ‘Project B’ are not used in ‘Project C’. Instead, software is developed from scratch every time. It is expensive, time-consuming, and rarely good. That is why we have built a modular base software that can be adapted to each individual task, enabling us to do it better, faster, and more affordably for our customers.” – Steen Secher Schmidt, Founder and CTO, GPower.
GPower v. 2.0
Since 2012, we have grown steadily in both the number of employees and projects for small and large customers alike. The vision remains to make quality instruments for automation, simulation, and testing accessible to as many as possible, but 2017 marked a turning point for us. Martin Boje joined GPower as CEO, and a new strategy was set.
“With the help of the software that Steen has developed based on his recognized and extensive expertise in LabVIEW development, and GPower’s partnership with National Instruments (NI), the goal is to deliver smart and modular standard solutions that combine our unique software and NI’s quality hardware at favorable prices. GPower customers can expect optimal and stable solutions that meet their specific needs—from simple data logging to large enterprise solutions, and everything in between.” – Martin Boje, CEO and Co-owner, GPower.
In addition to building tailored production and industrial solutions from the ground up, we offer standard instruments with proprietary software and open options for customization. Common to all our instruments is that we stay involved from order to implementation, delivering stable and optimizing hardware and software solutions regardless of needs and industry.
A green privilege
At GPower, we have several customers and partners working with green energy and green tech. We see it as a privilege—and of utmost importance—to help optimize, scale, and strengthen the development of green technology and energy production.
