What is IO-Link?
IO-Link is the first worldwide standardized IO technology (IEC 61131-9) for communication with sensors and actuators. The powerful point-to-point communication is based on the long-established 3-wire sensor and actuator connection, with no additional requirements for the cable material.
The system architecture could, for example, look like the image below, based on LabVIEW and TestStand:

GPower IO-Link
Although IO-Link has existed for more than a decade, there has not been an easy way to connect the devices to NI’s toolchain—until now—which is why GPower IO-Link is revolutionary. By installing just one toolkit, you gain access to data from more than 30,000 devices in your LabVIEW code. In addition, we have taken our own medicine and used our IO-Link LabVIEW Toolkit to build IO-Link step types for TestStand.
